"The Bicol University - Movement for the Advancement of Youth-let Advocacy (BU MADYA) is an organization dedicated to empowering young people to become active, socially responsible, and globally aware citizens. We aim to promote sustainable development by aligning our work with global frameworks, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while also addressing the needs of local communities.
Upholding the organization’s mission of empowering the youth for community service and leadership formation, BU MADYA joins the country in celebrating this year’s National Children’s Month (NCM) through interactive gatherings or mini workshop seminars with invited children, guest speakers, and the member-advocates belonging to the organization.
In line with the NCM 2025 theme, “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata Ipaglaban!”, BU MADYA introduces a workshop seminar entitled, “Kalsada ng Gunita: Tungo sa Sentrong Makabata” that depicts the role of each one in shaping a path towards safe spaces for children where they can grow and enjoy their rights as we tackle societal issues that hinder these.
Set on November 29, 2025 at BU College of Medicine Activity Hall both the youth and children convene and join the conversation that most of the people evade to talk about these days, especially on topics including digital safety for children, exploitation of children, child labor, and being responsible cohorts of youth that help create a better future by enriching the present with empathy in championing children’s rights.

Project Objectives
Raise awareness and deepen understanding among youth and children about critical issues affecting children’s welfare—such as online safety, exploitation, and child labor—through interactive discussions and workshop activities aligned with the National Children’s Month 2025 theme;
Foster youth leadership and social responsibility by engaging BU MADYA member-advocates in facilitating learning sessions and collaborative activities that promote empathy, advocacy, and the creation of safe spaces for children.
Strengthen community involvement in advancing children’s rights by providing a platform for dialogue and partnership among children, youth, and guest speakers, emphasizing shared responsibility in protecting and upholding the rights and safety of every child.
