"In the days leading to the Undas season, the atmosphere in the Philippines becomes one of remembrance, reflection, and reconnection with heritage. To deepen this cultural consciousness, Pamana sa Panahon: Filipino Folk Beliefs and Wisdom proposes a week-long series of daily Facebook posts that feature Filipino mythical creatures, deities, superstitious beliefs, folk music, wisdom, and other aspects of pre-colonial culture. The initiative is not intended to impose or revive the native faith of our ancestors, but rather to foster awareness and appreciation of the country’s rich indigenous traditions and worldview.
By revisiting these cultural narratives, the project seeks to highlight how the values, beliefs, and practices of early Filipinos have shaped the Filipino identity and continue to influence our modern way of life. In an era of globalization and digital connectivity, rediscovering these roots becomes vital in strengthening cultural identity and national pride. Through this online cultural campaign, the project aims to engage the youth and the broader community in meaningful reflection on our heritage—reminding everyone that the wisdom of the past still resonates and guides the spirit of the Filipino today.
