UNLEASH Hack Legazpi: Enhancing Disaster Resilience in Cities
"Legazpi City, situated in the Bicol Region, faces recurring natural hazards such as typhoons, floods, and volcanic eruptions. These challenges highlight the urgent need for innovative and technology-driven approaches to disaster resilience. UNLEASH Hack Legazpi: Enhancing Disaster Resilience in Cities aims to bring together students, innovators, and local stakeholders to develop creative, data-driven solutions that strengthen urban preparedness, response, and recovery. The event promotes collaboration, civic innovation, and sustainable development aligned with Legazpi City’s vision of becoming a model resilient city.
The event will commence on February 9 - 10, 2025 at the Bulwagang BUeno, 3F Student Union Center Building, Bicol University Legazpi - West, Legazpi City, Albay. UNLEASH Hack Legazpi will feature participating teams of students from colleges and universities across Legazpi City and adjacent constituencies, enabling them to formulate practical solutions to the pressing disaster-related challenges that are embattling the community and harnessing technology and problem-solving skills to make a lasting, positive impact in our joint disaster resilience efforts. "
